Father’s Day 2019

Sunday, June 16 is the day for honoring Dads.  We miss ours every day.  He was always on us about one thing or another and it sometimes seemed that we could never make him happy.  But, every time we met someone he knew, they invariably had a story about one of our accomplishments that Lou had told them about.  He worked hard all his life, on the New Haven Railroad, in the US Army, for the city of Anchorage.  He had high standards and he expected a lot from us kids.  He also had a love for the great Italian singers, Mario Puzzo, Frank Sinatra, Luciano Pavarotti…then,  late in life, Leonard Cohen!  He loved to cook and he enjoyed nothing more than feeding a full table.  Anyway, make sure and tell your Dad how much he means to you…whether he pisses you off regularly or not.  He helped bring you into this world and his influence will likely help shape the person you become.

If you want to give him a gift, we have lots of ideas here at the shop.  Buy him a box of his favorite consumables or check out our salty dop bags, soaps and mugs.
